Home Remedies for Constipation

For solving constipation there are many alternatives which are available to us.  Many people prefer to go for home remedies for constipation since they have been proven to work for many people they know or heard from someone they rely on, these remedies are cheaper and usually available at home.

1. Eat lots of Fruits and Vegetables

Fruits and Vegetables are the most natural form of food and our body finds it easier to digest them compared to other food.  Eat lots of fruits and your fiber requirements would also be supplied which will help your digestive and elimination system.  If you need to make a choice then go for fruits since they are delicious, nutritious and full of food fibers.  Apples, Guava, Dried plums etc are really effective for overall health and constipation cure.

2. Drink one or two glasses of Fruit Juice

Apple juice has the natural ability to increase digestion and cleans up the stomach and helps a lot in elimination.  You can also add equal quantities of Orange and Prune juice so that effectiveness would increase.  Drink one to two glasses of juice daily.  If you take prune juice it is highly likely that you may not need other remedies.

3. Drink Water

4. Milk of Magnesia

Take around one or two tea spoon of milk of magnesia with little water.  You will soon find relief from constipation.  However take care, not to take more quantity as it can lead to diarrhea.

5. Castor Oil

6. Methi or Fenugreek Seeds

7. Isabgol

8. Regular Exercise
