Normally when we think about constipation and its cures we tend to ignore yoga as one of the solutions.  However yoga can really be an effective solution for constipation problems.  Yoga can work gradually on the body organs and makes them work in a healthy manner.  When your body organs start working in healthy and expected fashion the diseases of the organs are also likely to go away.  Another benefits is instead of being a quick fix it becomes more permanent solution.

When and How to practice the Yoga Poses

Usually yoga poses are practiced empty stomach early in the morning.  Normally they are done after being fresh in the morning, but for the patients of constipation they may not have stomach entirely clear.  Hence you should try to clear the stomach as much as possible by drinking warm water and then wait for some time.
